When Gordon and Carlyn Baltzer sold their Victorian Cape and built a beautiful contemporary home-by-the-sea, they
knew who'd they call for another fabulous collection of cabinets - Charles Lantz Cabinetry.
"It was a foregone conclusion" says Carlyn, smiling. "The quality - Roy [Parsons] is an absolute
sweetheart of a man - he listens and is so adaptive. They're so conscientious about the little
details . . ."
Charles Lantz Cabinetry's exceptional work is featured throughout the Baltzer's new home, from the kitchen and living
area, to the dressing room and bathroom.
The Baltzers went for an ultra-simple, sophisticated look.
They wanted, Carlyn recalls, "something with the warmth and essence of fine, rich, whipping cream; something that would
almost feel like velvet to one's touch." For the second time, the shade "lemon chiffon" suited them
perfectly.
The glass in the cabinet doors encourages Carlyn to "make sure it's real neat." As for the CLC refrigerator
treatment, it's been known to create quite the disappearing act.
The bar's glassware is placed on shelves made out of glass framed in hardwood. At night, the bar's in-cabinet lighting
sparkles through the glasses and the shelving. "It's very pretty," says Carlyn.
These photos show cabinets and more cabinets . . . for the next phase of the project, CLC is
heading to the study.
Joining Charles Lantz in the Baltzer project was cabinet builder Roy Parsons and assistants
Melburne McGinnis, Ricky Hirtle, Solomon Childs and Brent Strong. The contractor was Gordon Craig of Lunenburg
(902) 634-3595.
