"Charles delivered what he said he'd deliver at the cost he said.
That says a lot."

The stained maple island with solid maple top is Jan McKenzie's favourite feature in her Charles Lantz Cabinetry kitchen. "I always wanted a kitchen where I can entertain and cook at the same time," she says. "I like to have people come over for dinner."

Jan McKenzie and her husband Wayne Mulock live in the house his grandfather built about 100 years ago. "Definitely nothing had been done to the kitchen," Jan recalls. "I don't know how his mother managed - there were no counters - not one. There was a sink and hardly enough room for drying dishes. One little cupboard over the sink, and one little pantry."

Although Wayne's mother worked in a less than ideal kitchen with a woodstove and a table on which she prepared her baking, he credits her with molasses cookies to "die for!"

Jan and Wayne spent summers in the house, then moved in permanently three years ago. That's when renovations started in earnest. "We went to many different companies," Jan recalls. "We thought Charles' work was great. We went on his website and saw all the photos. And his prices were reasonable."

"We had a good idea what we wanted - we wanted it to fit in with the age of the house. We've redone the whole house - and had many different contractors. Charles delivered what he said he'd deliver and at the cost he said. That says a lot," Jan notes.
