After living in a modest home for 30 years & raising 5 kids, it was time for a change!

Feature Project January '09 - Izilda & Mike Pittman
Izilda and Mike Pittman raised five kids in their modest home. After living in it 30 years, they agreed it was time for a change.
That decision resulted in a six month rooftop-to-foundation renovation - a brand new home without the inconvenience of changing their address. Their son Shane managed the entire project - including the kitchen and dining room trading places. Safe to say his parents are delighted with the results.

"Everything works so well," she says, "The drawers are fantasic - so deep - and the sliders are so smooth. "We have all under-counter lighting and above-counter for the evenings - it looks so pretty," she adds. The stain, custom-mixed by CLC, gives the cabinetry a solid, handsome look. And Formica's smooth-as-silk solid surface countertop installed by CLC is another well-appreciated feature. Izilda is particularly impressed with how the separate sinks and countertop are joined together as one - so simple to keep clean. She counts the built-in compost bin under the sink as an added plus. |

"The built-in cutlery drawer is so easy to clean," says Izilda.
The bar is home to two hidden cupboards, one at both ends. Every inch of space is used - resulting in plenty of storage.
It's these well-designed features that are so typical in a Charles Lantz kitchen.
